She was predeceased by: her father Stephen McNicol; and her grandparents, Elizabeth and Stephen McNicol. She is survived by: her mother Mary Johnson; her husband Kevin Hamel of Patrick's Church; her close friend Maxine; her daughters, Michele Connell (Paul Connell) and Elizabeth Robinson (Daniel Robinson); and her granddaughters, Kathleen Connell and Alexandra Connell (Clayton Johansen).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, one of her favorite non-profits.
