“I had no idea that Beverly had passed away. We had lost touch and I had moved two times since seeing her last. We had been friends in Chicago since I was 6 and she was 8. When my family moved to Orlando, her family moved to Miami. When I'd be practicing piano, she'd be playing accordion. I am so sorry. I can still hear her soft voice and her infectious laugh.”
