Dorothy Mae (Tomey) Pearison Obituary
Dorothy Mae Tomey Pearison, St. Cloud, Florida passed away quietly in her favorite chair at home on September 27, 2021, at the age of 83. Dorothy is the oldest child of the late Clarence Milburn "Joe" and Mary Sophia (Kraft) Tomey. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on December 10, 1937. She married Lloyd Dale Pearison on February 24, 1956. She is survived by all five of her children: Melody, wife of Donald Skinner, of Ft Wayne, Indiana; Memory, wife of Tim Shepherd, of Kissimmee, Florida; Mike, husband of Cindy Pearison, of Athens, Michigan; Monty, husband of Renee Pearison, of Crozet, Virginia; and Merrilee, wife of Richard Laughlin, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She had 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers Larry Tomey of Decatur, Illinois, Jerry Tomey of Sullivan, Indiana, John Tomey of Terre Haute, Indiana and two sisters-in-law, Karlyss Pearison of Poseyville, Indiana and Phyllis Wright of Oakland City, Indiana, and many, many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one grandchild.
Dorothy was a loving wife and mother. She was a stay-at-home mom while all her children were young. She worked hard to make a comfortable home for her family. She was very artistic; a song writer of more than 80 songs. She enjoyed her gardens and canning. She was also an avid quilter, making many quilts for her family and charity and a long-time member of the Patchers of Time Quilt Guild. She was a member of Impact Community Church. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Most importantly, she was faithful to the Lord to the end.
