He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Brooks and Ruth Brooks (Plumer); his daughter Katie Renken; his son-in-law Scott Wilson; and his mother-in-law Elsie Blodgett.

He is survived by: his children, Angela Wilson (David Prince) of Pekin, Edward Brooks (Kacy) of Murray, Kentucky and Sherry Joachim (Shaun) of Canton; his son-in-law Trevor Renken of Farmington; his stepsons, Jason Sager (Nicole) of Peoria and Dale Sager (Jenny) of Navarre, Florida; his siblings, Karen Kelley (Terry) of Farmington, Bob Brooks (Lisa) of Farmington and Ron Brooks (Jean) of Kentucky; his grandchildren, Olivia Renken (Dylan Kenny), Gage Renken of Farmington, Ethan Wilson of Springfield, Grayson Wilson of Pekin, Melanie Brooks of Canton, Ayva Conway, Lola Brooks of Murray, Kentucky, Amelia Joachim, Evan Joachim of Canton, Sydney Sager of Durham, Jack Sager, Jake Sager of Peoria, Landon Sager and Kennedy Sager of Navarre, Florida; and his brother-in-law Keith Butterfield.
