He was predeceased by: his parents, Captain James E. Burns and Eleanore W. Burns (Siwik); his siblings, James Burns, Kevin Burns and Karin Burns; and his former wife Ann M. Burns (Forcier).
He is survived by: his children, Daniel Burns, Jr., Deborah Barry, David Burns, Darlene True and Dawn Costa (David); and his sister-in-law Susan Cote. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, a cousin and several good friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home (280 Bedford St, Lakeville, MA 02347). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church (340 Center St, Middleborough, MA 02346).
