He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Dona Hofmeyer; his children, Mark Hofmeyer (Megan Hofmeyer), Mallory and Erik Hofmeyer (Lacey Hofmeyer); his grandchildren, Greta, Aksel and Theodore; and his parents, Jeneva Wyk (Korver) and Maynard Van Wyk.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Moffitt Cancer Center, a non-profit, Comprehensive Cancer Center based in Tampa, Florida.
