He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Peterson and Cora Lee Peterson; his siblings, Clemmie McGriff, Mary Jean Peterson, R. Lee Peterson and L. V. Peterson; and his former wife Louzell Long Peterson.
He is survived by: his children, Wendy Scott (Abraham), Charles Peterson, Robert Peterson Jr., Marissa Bell (Christopher), LouAnn Peterson, Sondra Peterson, Tiffany Pollock (Alex) and Fredrick Shaw; and his siblings, Clara Mae Brown, Mary Caine, Annie Dixon, Ruby Futch and Arthur Peterson (Retha). He is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, others relative and friends.
