It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Billy Joe Jones of Sanderson, Florida, born in Jacksonville, Florida, who passed away on December 5, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Billy may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie B. Jones and Katie Peters Jones; his wife Gloria Virginia Lowery Jones; his son Mike Jones; and his sisters, Doris Harlene Fletcher and Lucy Jean Taylor.
He is survived by: his children, Angel Ables (Bryan) of Texas and Dan Jones (Angel) of Jacksonville, FL; his brother Leon Jones (Joella) of Fernandina Beach, FL; and his great grandchild Kelly Carr (Pam). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Ferreira Remembrance Hall. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Ferreira Funeral Services - Macclenny (250 N Lowder St, Macclenny, FL 32063).
