With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dennis Michael Whelan of Sanderson, Florida, born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, who passed away on April 19, 2023 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, James Whelan and Mary Whelan (O'Toole); his wife Alice (Kraus); his children, Shanna Rhoden, Lori Carter, Aubree Hires, Robert Carter Jr., Ryan Carter, Tyler Hires, Thomas Michael Whelan and Daniel Scott Whelan; and his siblings, Kathi Dery, Bridget Walls and Kevin Whelan.
