She was predeceased by: her parents, Margaret Plachko Hradesky and Frank Hradesky; her son David Tyger; her siblings, C. J. (Pat Hradesky), Jim Hradesky and Gloria Hoch; her father-in-law Royden Tyger; and her brothers-in-law, Gregg, Gary Tyger, Mike Defino and Dick Hoch.

She is survived by: her sister Marge Defino; her sisters-in-law, Mary Hradesky, Lynn Tyger, Linda Cook and Cynthia Tyger (Joel Hersh); and her mother-in-law Betty Jane Trexler.

In honor of Joan's nurturing spirit and love for children, memorial donations may be made to General G.C. Marshall Elementary School for the Outdoor Garden Project.
