We are sad to announce that on January 18, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Alice Marie Lavitt of Sarasota, Florida. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

Though Alice Marie may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Alice Marie touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Alice Callanan and John Austin Callanan; her husband Joseph William Lavitt; and her brother Col. John A. Callanan. She is survived by: her children, Michael O. Lavitt (Carol), Robert G. Lavitt (Cory) and Louise I. Lavitt; her grandchildren, Katherine M. Lavitt and Erin Lavitt; and her great grandchild Cosima Boothe Lavitt.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Senior Friendship Center of Sarasota or St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Sarasota.
