We are sad to announce that on May 11, 2023, at the age of 71, Arthur Seth Portnow MD (Sarasota, Florida), born in Brooklyn, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Sadie Portnow and Kiva Portnow; his wife Ruth; his children, Michelle Portnow-Rivas (Jimmy), Adam Portnow (Janella Leibovitz), Leah Portnow, MD (Adam Fox) and David Portnow (Mazal); and his grandchildren, Jonah, Eva, Sarah and Tehilah.

“In loving memory of Arthur Seth Portnow MD, Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts. Dr Portnow will never be forgotten , he was a great Dr and took the best care of my mom who is 93 and myself am 66 , he is so deeply missed by so many people , I found out just today and I am so devastated , my heart goes out to all his friends and especially his family , RIP Dr Portnow , we love you !”

“My husband and I were both long time patients of Dr. Portnow. We had not been able to see him for several months at his office and were shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. He was a compassionate, personable and professional physician and we always felt comfortable and confident in his knowledgeable care. He will be truly missed. We are so very sorry for his family's loss. Sincerely, Jo Ann and John O'Shaughnessy”

“Arthur Portnow was my doctor as well as my husbands. He helped us in all areas and saved my husbands life when he did an ultra sound and found his carotid artery needed surgery immediately. He sent him to Dr. Silverman and it was done. We adored seeing him and he had a sense of humor. He always was up front about what we needed to do. We came from Seattle in 2013 and he was our doctor from then on. For his family, which he adored, we offer our sympathy and prayers. A good man. Patricia Wilson”
