He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernie Saggau and Angie Saggau; his son Jeff; his former wife Lois Kretzinger; his wife Janet; and his sister Lydia.
He is survived by: his children, Rebecca (Don) and David (Kris); his grandchildren, Helen, Anna, Bernie and Lydia; his great grandchildren, Harper and Ford; and his sister Norma Jean.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial gifts be made to the Iowa Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a ministry Bernie was deeply passionate about as FCA complemented his passion for serving coaches and student athletes.
