She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Twigg and Ann Reba Twigg of Memphis; and her brother Dr. Lewis Twigg, Jr. of Flint, Michigan.. She is survived by: her husband Dr. George L. Mims of Sarasota, Florida; her daughters, Cheryl Ann Mims-Grier of Fayetteville and Carla Aletha Mims of Sarasota, Florida; and her son-in-law James Grier of Fayetteville, Georgia..
In lieu of flowers, her family ask that contributions and donations are made to scholarships or educational committees of the organizations in which she held memberships.
