He was predeceased by: his cousin Nathan Pugh; his uncle Tim Henley; and his father Stephen Rae Smith. He is survived by: his cousins, April and Bradley; and his siblings, Stephen A. Smith, Emily D. Smith (John Wilson) of McMinnville, Amanda Silvers and Amy Earl of Indiana. He is also survived by his grandmother, his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
