He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertha Rainey and David E. Rainey; and his siblings, Robert, Lorenzo and Mary Alice.
He is survived by: his daughter Jennifer Regina Rainey; his grandson Jayvien; his siblings, David, Barbara, Geraldine and Clematine Ates; and his brother-in-law Larry Ates. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, a host of cousins, good friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Home (4005 N Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34234). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Lucille Blake Memorial Chapel at Jones Funeral Home (4005 N Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34234). A burial was held on Monday, September 29th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Sarasota National Cemetery (9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241).
