It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Alan Root of Sarasota, Florida, born in Akron, Ohio, who passed away on April 26, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alan Root and Emilie Root (Myers). He is survived by: his wife Elisabeth Root (Grotte); his children, Alan Root (Esther Morera), Nanette Waite (Harold) and Brad Root (Kathryn); his grandchildren, Meredith Gilpin (David), Christopher Waite (Ashley), Crystal Doyle (Jeremy), Alex Root (Abby Araujo), Kyle Root (Morgan Moritz), Andrew Root and Emilie Root; his great grandchildren, Claire, Abigail, Evan, Samuel, Hank, Josiah, Owen, Oliver, Elijah and Amelia; and his siblings, Elizabeth Judkins and Stuart Root (Diana). He is also survived by his family and friends.
