He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Kern and Marian Kern (DeMarios); his son Kevin John; his brother Robert; his sister-in-law Margaret "Peggy" Kern; his brothers, Lawrence Kern and Jerome Kern; and his brothers-in-law, Clarence Lee and Robert Olewiler.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Jean Robinson; his daughter Lisa Cutcher (Todd) of North Port, FL; his siblings, Betty Olewiler of Seattle, WA, Ken Kern (Fran) of Oceanside, CA and Howard Kern (Mary Ann) of Walled Lake, MI; his sisters-in-law, Faye Kern of Santa Barbara, CA and Sharon Kern of Dallas, TX; his grandsons, Jason Jardine (Courtney) of Mason, MI, Christopher Jardine (Kurtis) of Toledo, OH and Cody Jardine of Toledo, OH; and his stepgrandsons, Dustin Cutcher (Amanda) of Maumee, OH and Cody Cutcher (Veda) of Temperance, MI.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
