He was predeceased by: his parents, Oneal Smith and Flora Mae Smith; his sister Madelyn Alaniz; his son Jonathan Smith; and his grandson Ethan Ard.
He is survived by: his wife Paulette Smith; his children, Holly Ard, Lena McNeer, Danette Smith and Mathew Smith; his sons-in-law, AJ Ard and Ash McNeer; his grandchildren, Christa Gordon, Steven Wilkening, Whitney Han, Corey Bell, Drew Smith, Ragan Hidalgo, Lincoln Ard, Aubrey Ard, Victoria McNeer and Shade McNeer; his sister Francis Haydar; and his nephew Hector Alaniz. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
