He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Basselman and Rufina Basselman. He is survived by: his children, Sam Scharf (Rada) and Lisa Bolton; his grandchildren, Matthew Bolton, Nicholas Bolton and Mila Scharf; his sisters, Lou Ann Miller (Max) and Lana Hoops (Mark); and his siblings' children, Stephanie Witwer (Brian), Carrie Nathe (Dave), Machal Hoops, Kate Hoops, Brad Miller (Sara), Alex Hoops (Jenna) and Tyler Hoops (Rachel).
