In the sacred silence of farewell, Maria is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Maria's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her daughter Katherine Mary. She is survived by: her husband Fernando S. Lopez; her sons, Fernando (Milly), Peter (Melissa Cirringione) and Robert; and her granddaughters, Jacqueline, Jillian, Jessica and Charlotte. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and godchildren.
Viewing was held on Sunday, January 25th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Toale Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory - Colonial Chapel (40 N Orange Ave, Sarasota, FL 34236). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, January 26th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the St. Jude Catholic Church (3930 17th St, Sarasota, FL 34235).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
