She was predeceased by: her parents, Gertrud Krauss (Plomer) and Karl Richard Krauss. She is survived by: her husband Horst Bornkast of Sarasota, Florida; her daughter Beatrice Bornkast-Meier (John) of Suffolk, Virginia; and her granddaughters, Anja V. B. Meier and Linnea E. B. Meier.
