Monica Ann McPhillips Obituary

We are sad to announce that on April 19, 2023, at the age of 89, Monica Ann McPhillips of Sarasota, Florida, born in Brooklyn, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Alvin McPhillips; her parents, James Giovanniello and Laura Giovanniello; her sister Rose Macario; and her brothers-in-law, Jack Sovak and Louis Macario.

She is survived by: her children, Jeryl Ann Schott, James Barber (Liz) and Jerry Barber (Mugette); her grandchildren, Megan Cavazos (Eddie), Corey Barber, Erynn Barber, Carly Barber (Sergio), Jesse Maiville, Nicole Cuello (Mario) and Gabrielle Baco; her great grandchildren, Micaela, Eduardo, Eli Cavazos, Zeppelin, Sebastian Zerbini, Aiden and Rilan Chambers; and her siblings, Fran Sovak, Nick Giovanniello (Marie) and Michael Giovanniello (Sonya). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and a large extended family.

Monica wished that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in her name to Tidewell Hospice, Inc. of Sarasota.
