He is survived by: his friend Paul; his children, Debbie Lobe (Bob) of Camden, Diane Topping (Larry) of Newport News and David Hersey (Keely) of Leesburg, Virginia.; his wife Jane Holt Hersey; his sisters, Mary Sue Ammon and Catherine Michela; his grandchildren, Heather Johnson (Ryan), Lindsey Lobe (Charlie Cox), Trevor Topping (Jessie), Bobby Lobe (Bridget), Trent Topping (Erin), Connor Hersey and Peyton Hersey (Ryan Ahern); and his great grandchildren, Emmett Divers and Noah Johnson.
