He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith Hind Reed and James Dillingham; his adoptive father Henry Reed; his son David Dillingham Reed; and his stepdaughter Kelley Rodriguez.

He is survived by: his wife Sally; his sister Martha Lewis; his children, James Reed and Megan Johnson; his stepchildren, Dustin Johnson, Eric Templeton, Kirsten McGuire and Megan Claypool; and his grandchildren, Lainey, Beau, Dane Johnson, Calvin Reed, Jack, Hattie Johnson, George, Amelia (Millie), Frances, Luisa Rodriguez, Margaret, Erika Templeton, Joe, Cory McGuire, Kate, Finn and Henry Claypool.

Any charitable donations in Tom Reed's name can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation and Wounded Warrior Project.
