With sadness, we share the passing of Iola Saunders of Satellite Beach, Florida. Iola, born on June 7, 1927, passed away on September 27, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Berlin B. Saunders Jr.; her siblings, Elva Adkins and Dayton Thacker Jr.; her son Patrick Saunders; her grandson Christopher Saunders; and her parents, Charlotte Iola Dawson and Dayton Eugene Thacker.
She is survived by: her children, Charlene McClish (Larry), Kathleen Young (Robert), Jeanine Williams (Andy), Michael Saunders, Terrie Lane (Gene), Tim Saunders (Vicki Crosswell) and Maureen DiGiacomo (Glenn); and her grandchildren, Michael Jinkins (Heather), Diane Jinkins-Moore (Danny Moore), Brian Young, Chelsey Young, Blair Williams (Michelle), Brandi Saunders, Brock Saunders, Brooke Saunders, Nicholas Lane, Jonathan Lane, Patrick Lane, Tyler Saunders (Samantha), Dalton Saunders (Andrea), Joseph DiGiacomo (Jackie Greenfield) and Jeffrey DiGiacomo (Jenna). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial (5950 US-1, Rockledge, FL 32955). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Florida Memorial Park (5950 US-1, Rockledge, FL 32955).
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
