He was predeceased by: his parents, Zeb Scott Franklin and Estalena Woodie Franklin; his siblings, Virginia Helms, Jean Daniels and Darlene Mitchell; his nephew Mark Benfield; and his niece Diana Franklin.
He is survived by: his wife Fran Franklin; his daughters, Nicole Potts (Ken) and Tara Franklin; his stepdaughter Jessica Walden (Chris); his grandchildren, Luke Walden and Eddie Paul Walden; and his siblings, Lahoma Hedrick, Linda Clontz, Kathy Dellinger (Larry) and Lambert Franklin Dean (Terri).
