It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rene George Vandevoorde of Sebastian, Florida, who passed away on April 16, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his former wife Karen VanDeVoorde; his brother Michael White; and his nephew Bill Cassidy. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Smith; his children, Dr. René G. VanDeVoorde III (Nicole), Cynthia VanDeVoorde Hall (Martin) and Rachel VanDeVoorde Powell (Steven); his grandchildren, Julianna, Eleanor, Oliver, William, Jack and Emma; his sisters, Stephanie Cassidy (Bill) and Judy Bynum; his niece Anne; his nephews, Adam and Michael; his stepsons, Lawrence Smith, Jr. (Amy) and Christopher Smith; and his stepgrandchildren, Megan and Ryan.
A funeral Mass was held on Friday, May 9th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the St. Sebastian Catholic Church (13075 US-1, Sebastian, FL 32958).
