He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles L. Nelson and Sarah Nelson (Creason); his wife Eleanor J. Thompson; his brothers, Gene, Ben, Wayne and David; and his siblings-in-law, Fred and Allie Thompson.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Nelson of Springfield, IL and Marilyn Spencer (Craig Fout) of Sebring, FL.; his grandchildren, Stephanie Spencer, Allie Nelson of Springfield, IL and Shane Spencer Sebring (Katherine); and his great grandchildren, Jenna Acres and Grace Spencer.
