He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Bud and Lola Smith (Cullen); and his pets, Ozzy, Sophie and Scooter.
He is survived by: his wife Karla; his daughter Cassandra C. Smith of Taylorville, Illinois; his stepdaughters, Penny Harris Pruitt of Sebring and Kara Lackey (Alan) of Yale; and his pet Pebbles. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 19 great – grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
