He is survived by: his wife Joy; his children, Joe (Joann), Ben (Katie), Clint (Shannon) and Tammy (Frank); his grandchildren, Joseph, Ashley, Justine, Shyla, Mason, Kate, Annie, Briar, Bricelynn, EmmaJoy, Josh, Brittany, Jackie, Griffin and J. P.; and his nieces and nephews, Kieth (Joyce), Kristine, Jenny (Lenny), Lynn (Mike), Eric, Victor, Angie (Eddie) and Stevie Andrews (Nancy).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Monroe's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
