She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Douglas Matthews and Geraldine Newsome; her children, Crystal Matthews and Anthony Matthews; and her siblings, Cynthia, Patricia and Terrance.

She is survived by: her daughter Cassandra Matthews of Sebring, FL; and her siblings, Vera, Mattie, Rosa, Sandra, Felecia and Edwin. She is also survived by five Grandchildren.
