Dorothy King Ransom Obituary
Dorothy King 'Dottie' Ransom passed away on November 16, 2022. She was born in 1930, in Gastonia NC and was 92 years old. She was a resident of Seminole Florida and resided at Oak Manor Senior Living Community. She was the daughter of James Alexander King and Ollie Crunkleton King. She is survived by her daughter, Nila Ransom (Michael) Postupack of Seminole Fl., two granddaughters, Stacy Dawn Ransom of St Petersburg Fl., and Kasey Postupack Bessler of Seminole Fl. She was preceded in death by her sons Earl Ray Ransom Jr. of Madeira Beach Fl., Stephen King Ransom of Gastonia NC., and James Randall Ransom of Tampa Fl.
Dottie moved to Florida in 1977 and became a career hospitality professional. She worked for Travel Lodge, Holiday Villas III and then became Resident Rental Manager at Sea Club Condominiums in Indian Shores. Dottie was the youngest of 12 children. Family was her devotion. She also had a passion for history and ancestry. She was truly the epitome of a "Steel Magnolia". Dottie was a swimsuit and sportswear model in her youth. She enjoyed gymnastics and diving. She was all southern charm, class and style. She is dearly loved and will be missed forever and always. Peace be with you Mama as you are finally united with your three sons. I will see all of y'all down the road a piece.
