He was predeceased by: his parents, George DeJong and June DeJong (Phillips); and his son Gregory. He is survived by: his wife Nellie; and his sister Kate Geller. He is also survived by 5 children, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Brett Funeral Home (4810 Central Ave, St. Petersburg, FL 33711). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 24th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be mad to the Chelsea Hook & Ladder Company # 2, 63 Catherine St., Nyack, NY 10960.
