He was predeceased by: his parents, Mulford Lee and Beatrice Lila McKinnis; and his brothers, Emmett and William George. He is survived by: his wife Billie Jean; his children, Greg McKinnis (Mindy), Todd McKinnis (Debbie) and Mendy Whittemore (Don); the mother of his children Carey Sonnenburg; and his brother Howard McKinnis. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Samaritan's Purse, an organization that reflects Hugh's spirit of helping others in need.
