With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alton Curtis Thornton of Starke, Florida, who passed away on November 22, 2025 at the age of 68. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Nelson Thornton and Carma Vera Griffis; and his brothers, Dale Thornton, Donald Thornton and Neil Thornton.
He is survived by: his sister Margie Barkman (Bryan); his wife Michelle Thornton; his children, Brooke Barber (Brad) and Nelson Thornton (Lezlee); his grandchildren, Donnie (Emilee), Josie (Brandon), Jorden, Layla and Wyatt; and his great grandchildren, Everleigh and Oakleigh.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the New River New Congregational Methodist Church. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
