He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley McRae and AnnaMae McRae; his grandparents, Harley and Ardelia McRae (Johns); and his brothers, John "Edwin" McRae, Earl McRae and Eugene McRae.

He is survived by: his wife Gladys McRae (Bundy); his brother James "Jim" McRae; his children, Wayne McRae (Cherri), Maria Thomas Kish (Paul), Barry Thomas (Amy), Diego Lopes (Gabriela) and Bruno Lopus (Alana); his sister-in-law Emily Johns McDonald (Rod); and his grandchildren, Josh Acree (Abby), Madelyn Kish, Brian Kish, Landon Thomas, Amelia Thomas, Vivian Picard, Luisa Lopes, Lucas Lopes and Matteus Lopes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
