He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Anderson Cooey and Broward Napoleon Cooey; and his brother Ramon Cooey. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane O'Brien Cooey; his children, Julius Broward Cooey, Jr. (Jack), Diane Cooey Brooks (Jeff) and William James (Billy); and his sister Edith Cooey Gilreath (Arthur). He is also survived by 29 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Waters Memorial Gardens Cemetery (2061 Hwy 51 NE, Steinhatchee, FL 32359).
