He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Sloat and Orva Sloat (Simpson); his wife Sophie; and his sons, Wayne and Gary.

He is survived by: his daughters, Sandra Bryla of Conroe, Rebecca Davies of Stuart, FL. and Cheryl Sloat of Palm City. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
