He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Bass-Rainey and Areola Bass-Rainey; his daughters, Angela and Tangela Bass; his grandson Devontae Dukes; and his niece MeKesa Capenter.
He is survived by: his children, Chester Bass (Brenda), James Bass (Shaundria) of Tampa, FL, Douglas Bass (LaTasha) of Glen Burnie, MD, Veronica Bass-Webb (Kenneth) of Fort Pierce, FL and Betty Bass (Dieuveux Pierre); his nephew Hal Taylor; and his niece Jacqueline Rainey.
