He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Stephanie (Bret Maxwell) and Stephen (Kristina); his grandchildren, Liina, Christopher, Shelby and Cooper; his mother JoAnn; and his brother Jeffry (Lynn). He is also survived by numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
