He was predeceased by: his wives, Elaine Johnson Hammer and Ruth Curtis Hammer. He is survived by: his children, Dianne E. McCarthy (Michael), Susan E. Kushmerek (Stanley), Russell N. Hammer (Kelly) and Douglass A. Hammer (Jodi); his stepchildren, Cindy Curtis and Gordy Curtis; and his grandchildren, Ryan McCarthy, Katherine Ward, Jonathan Kushmerek, David Hammer, Daniel Hammer, Lillian Hammer and Anneliese Hammer. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
