He was predeceased by: his wife Clara; and his siblings, Rosita, Marianna (Ecuador), Salvador, Camilo, Manuel, Jesús (Ecuador) and Miguel (Levittown).

He is survived by: his daughter Maria. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rafael's memory may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Parish Outreach.
