He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Chapin and Patricia Chapin (Lister); his former wives, Fran Chapin (Bartz) and Barbara Weber Chapin; his son Scott W. Chapin; and his stepson Jeffrey Saunders.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Garneau Chapin; his siblings, Byron (Becky) of Chattanooga, TN, James L. (Pat) of Blackwood, NJ, Neil (Donna) of Gainesville, FL and Joyce Kuzmick (Steve Prieur); his children, Todd (Pam) of Deland, FL, Kevin (Assunta) of Waverly, PA, Audra Walsh (William) of Havertown, PA and Eric (Elizabeth) of Ashley, PA; and his stepdaughter Jennifer Harris (Rob) of Chula Vista, CA. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews.
