He is survived by: his wife Coreatha Dotson; his mother Janie Prather; his children, Jennifer, Jessica and James Jr.; his siblings, George, Curtis, Johnny, Jacquelyn, Barbara, Brenda and Ron; and his grandchildren, Mark Jr., Janiya, Mahlaj and Yasher. He is also survived by great grands, nieces, nephews and cousins.
