She was predeceased by: her parents, William Knight and Maysel; her stepparents, James Babbs and Mildred Knight; her husbands, Virgil Gambrel, Robert Courtney and John Johnston, Sr.; her sister Betty; her brother-in-law Bob Sharpe; her sister Helen; her brother-in-law Junior Pittman; her siblings, Esther and Thomas; her sister-in-law Debbie; and her siblings, Butch and Janet Eileen.

She is survived by: her children, Mark of Only, TN, Donna (Terry) of Crest Hill, IL and Charles (Samantha) of Reddick, FL.; her close friend Mimi (George); and her caregiver Isabel. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
