He was predeceased by: his parents, Joao T. DaTerra and Branca J. DaTerra (Carias); and his former wife Maria DaTerra (Lobao). He is survived by: his close friend Odete Cordeiro; his pet Pico; his daughters, Nancy M. Eckman (Christopher) and Linda A. DaTerra-Lourenco (Adalberto); and his granddaughters, Alexandra and Megan Lourenco.
