He was predeceased by: his parents, Monroe Taylor and Minnie Lue Taylor; his wife Rita J. Taylor; his son Paul Taylor; his grandson Kyle Taylor; and his siblings, Rochelle Smith, Robert, Stevie and Guy Taylor.

He is survived by: his children, Billy Taylor (JoAnn) of Crawfordville, FL, Howard Taylor (Sandy) of Maxville, FL, Bruce Taylor (Sybil) of Crawfordville, FL, Cricket Taylor (Tina) of Clarksville, TN and Rita Zarate of Palm Bay, FL.; and his siblings, Mitchell Taylor (Rhonda), Richard Taylor (Kathy), Dorothy Hall and Wanda Lynn. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Big Bend Hospice in memory of Amos B. Taylor.
