He was predeceased by: his brothers, John, Gavin and Dennis Fitzgerald; and his nephew Ted Sweet. He is survived by: his daughters, Colleen and Kathleen; his sisters, Claire Sweet of Rhode Island and Mimi Leveille of Rhode Island; his siblings' children, John Fitzgerald (Meg), Ryan Leveille, Maria De Cristoforo, Sharon Fuller (Barry), Kathy Sweet, Cheryl Whitford (Bryan) and Charlotte Fitzgerald; his former wife Linda Beard McDaniel; and his daughter Katie.
