We are sad to announce that on May 23, 2024, at the age of 66, David Herschel Owen in Tallahassee, Florida, born in Lester, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the sacred silence of farewell, David Herschel is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that David Herschel's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.

He was predeceased by : his father Herschel Owen; and his brother Jonathan Brents Owen. He is survived by : his mother Frances Kuykendall Owen of Athens; his wife Valerie; his children, David Chase Owen of Crawfordville, FL and Lauren Dye (Denny) of Crawfordville, FL; and his grandchildren, Denver Brents and Murphie Grace Dye.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 28th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the McConnell Funeral Home Chapel (1200 E Forrest St, Athens, AL 35613). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 28th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
